Beginning at a young age, Galen excelled in playing piano, guitar and drums. Heavily influenced by the music of the 1960’s and 1970’s, he began to write songs and play in various musical groups. During high School, he played drums for many school and church programs. He also played and traveled with a band called “Owl Creek”. Galen then attended McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas for two years where he studied Music Performance. After this, he played drums, sang and traveled with a Christian Production company called Young American Showcase for two years before moving to Fort Collins, Colorado. Soon after arriving in Fort Collins, Galen began to perform his original music and lead worship for various Christian groups in the area. He served as a worship leader for the college ministry of First Christian Church of Fort Collins, Colorado for three years. He also played drums and sang with a Christian group called “Circle” for two years. Galen graduated from Colorado State University in 1987 with a BA in Music Therapy. He married Sherri on June 21, 1986. Galen continued to serve as part time worship pastor for the Christian church until June of 1987. He and his family then moved to Atascadero, California where Galen received his National Board Certification as a Music Therapist and worked in his field of Music Therapy. He also led worship for the Vineyard church of Atascadero while there. In 1993, he was called to serve as Worship Pastor for Iasis Christ Fellowship of Fort Collins, CO. During his ten years as a pastor with Iasis, Galen Lead worship, preached sermons, counseled individuals and produced various theatrical and musical productions. During the summer of 2002, he founded Sojourner’s House of Worship. In 2005, Galen also founded the Pikes Peak Christian Artist Festival. Since 2004, Galen has served as Worship Arts Pastor for Woodland Park Christian Church. He and his wife Sherri live in Woodland Park and have two sons currently attending college.
